Holiday Cocktail Favorites

Enjoy some of our favorite seasonal cocktails to brighten the season

Gingerbread Old Fashioned

Nothing old fashioned about this flavor

2 oz Tom Cat Gin
1/2 tsp Gingerbread Syrup*
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 dashes Aztec Chocolate Bitters

Stir ingredients with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a gingerbread cookie.

*Our Gingerbread Syrup recipe is below, or just use Barr Hill Ginger Syrup infused with your favorite warm spices.

Combine 2 c water, 1 c ginger syrup, 1.5 c demerara sugar, 3/4 c molasses, 1 tsp orange zest, 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 crushed allspice berries, a pinch of nutmeg and 1.5 tsp of vanilla - warm until ingredients form a syrup. Refrigerate and use for up to 30 days.

Holiday mule

Kick off this holiday season with a delicious twist on a Mule

2 oz Barr Hill Vodka
0.5 oz Triple Sec
0.5 oz Cranberry Juice (unsweetened)
0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Top Ginger Beer

Add all ingredients to glass with ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge, fresh rosemary and cranberries.

Pear-Rosemary Bee's Knees

A seasonal take on a classic

2 oz Barr Hill Gin
0.5 oz Honey Syrup (or make one, 2:1 honey to water)
0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
3-4 pieces Fresh Pear
1 piece Fresh Rosemary

Add pear, rosemary and honey syrup to a shaker gin. Gently muddle. Add remaining ingredients, shake with ice and double strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a pear fan.

Buzz nog

A decadent homage to the classic egg nog

2 oz Tom Cat Gin
0.5 oz Maple Syrup
0.5 oz Coffee LIqueur
0.5 oz Oat Milk
1 Whole Egg

Dry shake all ingredients without ice. Shake again with ice. Double strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh grated nutmeg.

Thin Mint Meltdown

a grown-up treat

1.5 oz vanilla-infused Barr Hill Vodka*
0.5 oz Creme De Menthe
0.25 oz Branca Menta
1 oz Creme De Cacao
0.5 oz Simple Syrup
0.75 oz Heavy Cream

Shake with ice and strain over pebble or crushed ice. Top with whip cream and crushed candy canes for an extra bit of holiday decadence.

*use 1 tsp vanilla extract or a vanilla bean to infuse a bottle of Barr Hill Vodka

winter gin & tonic

This cocktail isn't just for summer

2 oz Barr Hill Gin
1 oz Barr Hill Tonic Syrup
Top Seltzer

or

1 can Barr Hill craft canned G&T

Build ingredients in a festive glass, add ice and top with seltzer. Or just pour can over ice:). Garnish with favorite seasonal citrus and herbs.

Spiced Gin Punch

For easy and delicious hosting!

1 750ml bottle Barr Hill Gin
12 oz Orange Juice
10 oz Lemon Juice
5 oz Cranberry Juice (unsweetened)
8 oz Honey Syrup (or make your own 2:1 honey water)

Add all ingredients to a pitcher with ice, 5 cinnamon sticks, 5 orange wheels and whole cranberries. Pour over ice to serve. Garnish with cinnamon stick and cranberries.

(Batched cocktail pro-tip: Add the ice just before your guests arrive so your cocktail doesn't get too watered down as the ice melts. You can still prep all of the other ingredients in the pitcher in advance, storing it in the fridge without ice until you are ready.)

cat scratch punch

Get a scratch of ginger in this punch

15 oz Tom Cat Gin (approx. 2/3 750ml bottle)
15 oz Apple Cider
5 oz Averna
5 oz Ginger Syrup
7.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

Add all the ingredients to a pitcher, and add a few orange slices and cinnamon sticks. Fill with ice and stir to combine.
